Pakistani films are gaining more and more popularity due to the increase in social media and the internet. They're showing on online streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime alongside Hollywood films, finally getting their proper due. Pakistani films like Khiladi 786 offer viewers a diverse collection of topics that they can relate to, as well as some great comedic relief. Pakistani films often speak about issues relevant to the country such as corruption, politics, family life, societal pressures on women or others. Khiladi 786 falls into the category of a comedy, with some social commentary thrown in. The film follows Jiya, played by Ayesha Omer, who is a popular model on the run from her fiancée Wasim, played by Shaz Khan. After her family gets involved in an accident that Wasim caused during their getaway wedding ceremony, they don’t show up to their actual wedding. After spending two years looking for Wasim without luck, Jiya meets Rameez Siddiqui played by Faisal Qureshi. Upon meeting him she realizes he is not only handsome but nice and funny too. Between her sister and brother-in-law and her fiancé, she and Rameez find themselves together in a very interesting situation. The film offers a lot of entertainment, but the plot is so poorly executed that it's difficult to recommend this movie to anyone. Ayesha Omer has played many comedic roles in the past, but this role comes with an added twist. She plays Jiya, who is not your typical female lead or even close to it. She goes through the trauma of finding out she was catfished by her fiancée who was using photographs of someone else after all along. Following that, she begins to date Rameez (Faisal Qureshi) after they meet at a friend’s party. Jiya is very obsessed with her phone, which gives the audience an idea of her character. She is very outgoing and talkative. Rameez (Faisal Qureshi) is the complete opposite of Jiya (Ayesha Omer). He is always calm and collected; he never gets too high or too low. He’s very patient and understanding, despite his fiancé leaving him at the alter after a wedding party for all of their friends and family to see. The rest of the cast includes Shaz Khan who plays Jiya’s ex-fiancé, Faryal Mehmood who plays Jiya’s sister Maira, and Rizwan Ali who plays Jiya’s brother-in-law Batool. Ayesha Omer has done very well with her role as the problematic model/actress who is very insecure about herself. But her character is very different from any of her previous roles. Shaz Khan was portrayed as the stereotypical evil man who does anything to get what he wants or accomplish his own agendas; he makes his character look like a very weak womanizer. cfa1e77820
